The Organ

The organ was presented in 1890 by Mr William West (a memorial to whom is fixed on the north wall). It was rebuilt and enlarged as a Trimanual Organ in 1896, restored in 1973 and rebuilt again in 1999 by Wood of Huddersfield.

Organ pipes

The organ console was originally housed in a beautiful recessed arch below the pipes in the north wall of the chancel. It was relocated beneath the tower crossing during the rebuiold in 1999, placing the organist midway between the instrument and the congregation - enabling both to be heard!
